We’re thrilled to announce the launch of BATSS − Safe Efficient BATtery SyStem based on advanced cell technology − funded by the European Union under the topic entitled Next generation technologies for High-performance and safe-by-design battery systems for transport and mobile applications (Batteries Partnership). Led by CIDETEC Energy Storage, BATSS is set to transform the battery landscape with its innovative approach to designing and manufacturing advanced battery systems.
Our consortium will develop a new cell-to-pack concept-based battery system, prioritising safety without compromising performance. With a total funding of 4.990.149,75 €, the project will run from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026, focusing on transport and mobile applications.
Based on an outstanding cell-to-pack modular concept (MacroCell), BATSS aims to build tailored Battery Systems to be tested in specific industry use cases such as construction e-vehicles and semi-stationary applications.
Unlike traditional battery systems, BATSS prioritises safety from the ground up. By integrating advanced cell technology and adhering to Safe-by-Design SbD principles, we expect to deliver a battery system that not only meets but exceeds industry standards.
