Strengthening collaboration within the EU-INGENIOuS Battery Cluster

The EU‑INGENIOuS Battery Cluster event series continued on 15 April 2026 with a new webinar organised by our sister project VERSAPRINT, dedicated to battery safety: “How Do We Ensure Safety in Next-Generation Battery Designs?”

The webinar brought cluster experts from all the sisters: BATSS, NEXTBAT, VERSAPRINT, TEMPEST, and EXTENDED, fostering an open and constructive discussion on battery safety. Participants shared project‑specific strategies, technological developments, and real‑world testing results, highlighting the complementary approaches being developed across the cluster.

Led by VERSAPRINT, the agenda followed the established clustering event format, featuring two focused technical sessions, followed by an open Q&A and discussion, and concluding with a wrap‑up outlining key takeaways and upcoming cluster activities.

Our partners from CIDETEC represented BATSS, presenting the latest advancements and and safety strategies. Their contribution included detailed insights into experimental work and validation activities, demonstrating how BATSS is translating safety concepts into real‑world testing and concrete results.

This exchange clearly illustrated the strong alignment and collaboration across projects, supporting the accelerated deployment of safe, efficient, and reliable battery technologies.

Many thanks to VERSAPRINT for organising this timely and well‑structured webinar. Further outcomes and the recording of the sessions are available in the latest article on the VERSAPRINT project website here!

The EU-INGENIOuS Battery Cluster event series plays a vital role in promoting shared learning, increasing project visibility, and supporting coordinated progress. By strengthening collaboration among projects, the cluster actively contributes to Europe’s transition towards sustainable, resilient, and innovative battery value chains.
