Clustering action at the VERSAPRINT Industrial Workshop

On 14 April 2026, our sister project VERSAPRINT, part of the EU-INGENIOuS Battery Cluster, successfully organised its final Industrial Workshop. The hybrid event took place at the facilities of the project coordinator CEA in Grenoble, France, & online.

The workshop, titled: “Versatile Printed Battery Solutions for Next-Generation Electrified Mobility”, focused on innovative battery technologies and their applications across multiple sectors. Key discussion topics ranged from printed thermal management structures and 3D-manufactured module casing to automotive integration and applications in aeronautics and marine sectors.

This insightful and discussion‑driven event brought together BATSS and other stakeholders for a full day of knowledge exchange and collaboration. It gathered around 40 participants with complementary expertise in battery technologies, including: Researchers, engineers, industry leaders, policy representatives. This diversity fostered rich exchanges and cross-sector perspectives on innovation, scalability, and industrial deployment.

BATSS contribution and European Research synergies

BATSS was presented during Session 2, dedicated to European research synergies for advanced battery technologies. Our partners from IFPEN provided an overview of the BATSS project, highlighting:

  • The project’s objectives and positioning
  • Latest technological advancements
  • Tangible results, supported by visual material and demonstrations

The session concluded with an interactive discussion involving several EU projects participating both in person & online. Together, participants explored pathways to bridge the gap between TRL 5 and industrial deployment of advanced battery systems, underlining the importance of joint European efforts.

The workshop proved to be a key networking opportunity, enabling valuable exchanges on cross‑sector applications, technology transfer, and replicability in other industrial and environmental contexts. These fruitful conversations reinforced shared ambitions for advancing sustainable, safe, and efficient battery technologies.

We warmly thank our sister project VERSAPRINT for organising such a comprehensive and engaging event and for strengthening collaboration within the EU-INGENIOuS Battery Cluster.

Our presentation is available down below, and further details can be found on the VERSAPRINT website.

Stay tuned for more updates on upcoming clustering actions and joint activities!
