BATSS consortium partner VOLTFACTORY participated in the Alkeemia Battery Forum 2026 in Venice, Italy, contributing to discussions on battery innovation and the future of the European battery industry.
Representing VOLTFACTORY, Dr. Hartmut Popp delivered a presentation titled “Designing Modular Battery Packs for Off-Highway Applications: No-Compromise Safety, Performance, Durability, and Circularity.” The presentation explored key considerations in the development of battery systems for demanding off-highway applications.
The Alkeemia Battery Forum brings together experts from across the battery value chain, providing a platform for knowledge exchange on technological innovation, industrial development, and the ongoing transformation of the European battery sector. The event fosters dialogue between industry, research organisations, and policymakers, helping to strengthen collaboration across the battery ecosystem. It provided an excellent opportunity to share expertise, engage with industry stakeholders, and discuss the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of battery technologies in Europe.
A key theme throughout the discussions was the importance of strong European cooperation in building a competitive and sustainable battery value chain. This collaborative approach is at the core of the BATSS project, where partners from across Europe work together to advance battery technologies and standardisation for off-road, marine, and stationary applications.
