We are thrilled to announce BATSS’s active participation in the EU-INGENIOuS cluster, a collaborative initiative within the European Union’s Horizon Europe framework. EU-INGENIOuS, which stands for the European Union Initiative for Next Generation Battery Systems, brings together five pioneering projects, including BATSS, to revolutionise battery technology across Europe.
Chaired by project coordinator Jeremy Warren, the cluster is a unified approach to tackling some of the most pressing issues in battery technology. Together, the five projects within the cluster—BATSS, EXTENDED, NEXTBAT, TEMPEST, and VERSAPRINT—are working to develop innovative battery systems that will be safer, more efficient, and better suited to the demands of modern transport and mobile applications. The cluster is also dedicated to enhancing the communication and dissemination of groundbreaking research. By working together, the cluster aims to create a multiplier effect, aiming to create a multiplier effect that ensures the innovative work across all member projects reaches a broader audience and has a substantial impact.
Collectively representing 57 organisations from 17 countries, with a research investment exceeding 23.5 million euros by the European Commission, EU-INGENIOuS is set to make a significant impact on the European battery value chain. The cluster’s work is key for advancing Europe’s leadership in battery technology, a key component in achieving a climate-neutral transport sector and reducing CO2 emissions across the continent.
Why EU-INGENIOuS Matters for BATSS
BATSS is dedicated to advancing the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of battery systems for transport and mobile applications. By joining forces with the EU-INGENIOuS cluster, we are not only amplifying our project’s visibility but also contributing to a larger European effort to address critical challenges in battery technology, such as improving performance and safety, reducing environmental impact, and lowering costs.
This collaboration offers BATSS invaluable opportunities to showcase our progress at high-profile events, such as the upcoming Battery Innovation Days in Barcelona this November. Additionally, our participation in the cluster’s first webinar has already highlighted the importance of collective efforts in driving forward the next generation of battery systems.
As BATSS continues to contribute to and benefit from the EU-INGENIOuS cluster, we are excited about the potential to drive innovation in battery systems and make a lasting impact on the industry. Stay tuned for more updates on our participation in this transformative initiative and how we are working together to shape the future of battery technology in Europe.
