BATSS holds milestone General Assembly in Lyon

Lyon, France – December 4, 2024 – The BATSS consortium successfully convened for its M12 General Assembly at IFP Energies Nouvelles in Lyon, France. Hosted by IFP Energies Nouvelles, the meeting marked a crucial milestone as the project reached its one-year mark.

The assembly opened with a welcome from the project coordinator, CIDETEC Energy Storage, and the hosting team at IFP Energies Nouvelles. Over the course of the first day, the consortium reviewed significant advancements across key areas, including battery system requirements, manufacturing and validation processes, and thermal, mechanical, and electrical design. Discussions also covered critical topics like modelling and simulation, safety enhancements, and circularity aspects of the battery system.

Partners engaged in forward-looking conversations, addressing potential challenges and exploring innovative strategies to ensure the project remains on track for success in its upcoming phases. A key focus of the discussions was fostering enhanced collaboration and leveraging the technical innovations of BATSS to tackle industry hot topics.

In addition to the in-depth discussions, participants toured IFP Energies Nouvelles’s Electrochemistry and Materials department. The guided visit offered valuable insights into the state-of-the-art research and facilities supporting the project’s ambitious goals.

The second day of the General Assembly concluded with a wrap-up session that consolidated key takeaways and next steps. The event closed on a positive note with a team lunch, further reinforcing the collaborative spirit that drives BATSS forward.
